COMMON WAR

COMMON WAR (est.2013) – In 2015, Common War released “The Search” on
Eulogy Recordings. Since then, a lot has happened. They’ve toured throughout
the US numerous times, and much of Canada, all while seizing the opportunity
to play with bands such as Strung Out, Ignite, Cancer Bats, Stick to Your Guns
and more. Through these experiences, the band has grown and matured in both
sound and outlook. Moreover, the addition of vocalist David Gualco has given new
life and vigor to the stage. Common War has found their niche and evolved their
sound into something that they’ve been attempting to create since the beginning;
something heavy, dark, and aggressive.

Not long after David joining, the band had more than an album’s worth of music
written. They entered the studio in February of 2017 and began recording what
would become their second full length entitled “Possess Yourself,” to be released on
Irish Voodoo Records. Dividing studio time between Paul Miner’s Buzzbomb Studios
(Terror, H2O, Trapped Under Ice, New Found Glory, Death By Stereo) and guitarist
JP Gericke’s home studio, the album came together effortlessly. “Possess Yourself”
exhibits each member’s uniqueness and illustrates the workings of a group that knows
exactly what they want to create. Working with a sound that is much more angry
and dark than the previous album, Common War is comfortable and truly proud of
presenting what they’ve become to the world.
Already planning their return to the North American & Canadian touring circuit in
support of a new album, Common War has no plans to slow down anytime soon.
