BLACK VOODOO RECORDS

Slave began as an idea between two friends who over the course of a blistering Los Angeles summer, wrote, recorded and released a demo in 2010.  Shortly after releasing the demo, simply titled “MMX”, Slave solidified their lineup and began playing shows and writing a follow up effort which was ultimately named “ABYSS”, a six song ep which was an obvious dark departure from the sounds captured on “MMX”.  They played almost an entire year’s worth of shows supporting the ep and in the summer of 2011, they were asked to be a part of  Southern Lord Records’ Power of the Riff festival. In the months after that, they began writing yet again and began recording seven darker, more sonically punishing songs than ever before. They are now ready to unveil that collection of songs to the world.
